The Chinese New Year is exciting and a time for delicious food.

This year of the Monkey is a great time for new and interesting New Year’s delights as well as plenty of excellent traditional dishes.

Dumplings, oranges, pomelo, whole fish, gok jai, and the tray of togetherness are just some of the excellent treats you can choose from to bring the best of luck to you and your family this year.

It is tradition to eat with the family for the New Year and have all the important food and praise to ring in the Chinese New year with prosperity and luck.  

It is time to get out the cooking utensils, because the Chinese New Year is a culinary cornucopia of dishes, treats, and eats.

Dumplings are a must for the Chinese New Year.

A pork and cabbage dumpling is also known as “Yuan bao.

The old adage is that because these delicious dumplings look like old Chinese currency, they will help with prosperity.

When you eat plenty of these little delicious dumplings you are helping to prosperity to you and your loved ones.

The dumplings are most often served with vinegar and soy sauce.

These two sauces are the perfect match to dip the dough-based dumpling.

The tangy vinegar and soy sauce blend perfectly with the minced pork.
