This means that they take 1-5 minutes each lesson to get their students out of their seats and moving. 

There are entire websites devoted to brain-break videos that lead children of various ages in songs, dances, and exercises. 

When it is time for the brain break, the students get up and get moving. 

When it is over, they are more alert but less restless and ready to work again. 

So, how does this translate to the office environment? 

There are certain modifications to be made. 

The exercises and activities done by children are neither interesting nor appropriate for adults. 

Additionally, in the classroom environment, these breaks take place about once every 60 minutes, which might be too disruptive to the environment. 

However, this doesn’t mean you cannot make this work.

The ideal solution is the Lunchtime Lift!

Lunchtime Life - Health TalkThis means that you tack on an extra 10-15 minutes to your employees’ lunch period to be used for some exercise. 

This can be done all together in the office or you can simply encourage your employees to get outside and move. 

Perhaps you would like to bring in a trainer to lead your employees in the exercise, or maybe a different group of employees can lead the exercise each week. 

Try to change things up; go for aerobic activity one day and then yoga or Pilates the next. 

You can choose whatever option or combination works best for the environment. 

The end result of this program?  Employees who are healthier both mentally and physically, result in a happier and more productive workforce.
