It has been renowned as a food stall during the nighttime for relaxing after a tiring day at work. 

Our professional chef will teach you the proper technique for preparing these classic Japanese dishes: 

  • Oden one-pot dish: You will learn how to prepare this dish using assorted ingredients like daikon, eggs, konnyaku, fishcake, and flavored dashi broth. 
  • Asari Claypot rice: This is a popular Japanese dish served especially in the winter when clams are in the full season. 
  • Desserts: You will also learn how to make popular desserts like: 
  • Mushi matcha pan: This is a light spongy care ideal for snacks. It is cooked in a steamer, unlike regular cakes. 
  • Green tea steam bun: You will learn how to make a green tea steam bun using simple ingredients like green tea, yoghurt, matcha powder, and honey. 

Class 2: Cooking with Friends: Salmon Aburi Sushi – 3 hours per session

In this hands-on cooking session, you will learn famous Japanese cuisine. You can invite your friends or loved ones to join you to make learning more fun and exciting. Here, our Chef will teach you how to cook dishes like: 

Salmon Aburi Sushi: This is acquired by blow-torching the mayonnaise topping on the sushi. This process of cooking brings out the grilled flavour of the sushi. Tofu Miso Soup: Our Chef will teach you the secret of making exceptional tofu miso soup using kelp and bonito flakes. 

Class 3: Knife Skills: Preparing Nigiri and Sashimi – 3 hours per session

You will learn how to prepare nigiri and sashimi and learn the secret behind perfect slicing. 

Cutting skills are a vital factor in Japanese cuisine. Proper use of the knife required to make clean cuts for sashimi is vital for taste and presentation. Our professional chef will help you use a sushi knife to handle, scalp, gut, and slice the fish. Aside from this, you will also learn how to prepare sushi rice and condiments. 

In this hands-on lesson, we will use seabream. Each student will get 700g of fillet fish. 

Menu: You will learn how to make the following: 

  • Sashimi with tosa dipping sauce: You will learn sashimi along with the best tosa dipping sauce. 
  • Netsuke simmering technique: Proper technique in simmering netsuke.
  • Tai clear soup: This is a simple broth-based soup made of veggies and meat broths. 
  • Nigiri sushi:  This is a kind of sushi where the rice is molded by hand, and the fish is pressed atop the rice. 

Class 4: Japanese Sushi Cake Celebration – 4 hours per session

A holiday is just around the corner, and maybe you are searching for some food ideas to amaze your loved ones. Why not try Japanese sushi cake? This takes the usual cake to a higher level. This is an excellent and refreshing option for sushi lovers. 

The base of this cake is made of aromatic sushi rice coated with toasted black sesame seeds, and decorated with your preferred sushi roll ingredients. In this four-hour lesson, our Chef will teach you the basics of preparing sushi rice, which includes washing, cooking, seasoning, and transforming it into a stunning masterpiece. Here, we only use the best and freshest ingredients. Each of you will make a six-inch sushi cake. 

Class 5: Japanese Bar Food – 3 hours per session

Are you familiar with Japanese bar food? Well, if not, this is synonymous with mouth-watering yakitori. You can learn how to make one by participating in this three-hour class.

Our chef will teach you the basics of yakitori. 

  • Yakitori: Skewered with leek and chicken, pork belly and asparagus, and minced meatball, served along with a special dipping sauce as well as salad sticks. 
  • Garlic Fried Rice: You will also learn how to make garlic fried rice. This is different from the usual garlic rice. 

Class 6: Christmas Celebration with Japanese Sushi Log Cake – 4 hours per session

This four-hour lesson will teach you how to make a giant sushi log cake perfect this coming holiday. If you are looking for ideas for a holiday celebration, we can help you with our festive menu, made with easily accessible ingredients. This cake will surely make your centrepiece stunning and attractive. 

Our chef will teach you how to make the following: 

  • Sushi rice
  • Giant California maki roll with sashimi salmon, avocado, and wasabi
  • Decorate with tempura prawns wrapped with shiso leaves

Class 7: Japanese Char Siew Ramen – 4 hours per session

Do you love ramen? If so, join this four-hour lesson on making ramen noodles from scratch and compliment them with different broths. Our Chef will teach you how to make two kinds of broth, the char siew and noodle, all from scratch. 

  • Fresh Ramen Noodles
  • Japanese Char Siew
  • Rolled & tied pork braised in low heat until the collagen in the meat turns into gelatin and the meat is moist, making it only meltingly tender.
  • Shoyu Ramen Broth
  • Miso Ramen Broth
